Eva Soriano - 'Disfrutona'
Eva Soriano returns to La Rambleta with her latest comedy show, an introspective and absurd monologue about things she knows nothing about. The show runs 80 minutes and is recommended for ages 16 and up.
First, the thing an English-speaking visitor needs to know: this is Spanish-language stand-up, without subtitles and built on Spanish television and local references. Comedy is the last thing that lands in a second language, so unless your Spanish is strong this is a hard evening to enjoy.
The venue
La Rambleta isn't in the centre. It's a cultural centre in the south of the city, on Plaza Lorena Palau beside the Bulevar Sur ring road, in the Sant Marcel·lí area — big hall, small hall, library, park next door. Proper seated theatre, not a standing music venue. The show itself runs 80 minutes and is recommended for ages 16 and up; door and start times are on the theatre's own site.
Getting there and getting back
Metro lines 1, 2 and 7 stop at Patraix or Safranar, leaving a walk from there; several EMT bus routes run along the Bulevar Sur, including a night service. Unusually for València, the venue has its own car park, so this is one of the few halls where driving is the easy option. If you take the metro, check the last train — the network doesn't run all night. Route options in getting around València and where to park.
Before the show
The Parc de la Rambleta is right beside it, which in September is a decent place to kill the hour before doors. Coming from the centre, Parc Central is roughly on the way. More evening ideas in date-night plans in València.
