Spain SailGP Grand Prix in València 2026
The Spain SailGP Grand Prix takes place in València on 5–6 September 2026. Foiling catamarans race at over 100 km/h off the coast, featuring 13 international teams and the Spanish team Los Gallos. Races run from 13:30 to 15:00 both days, and tickets are now on sale on the official website.
Very few elite sports happen literally in front of the city. Here the foiling catamarans fly at over 100 km/h off the València seafront, on 5 and 6 September.
What you see, and when
Racing runs from 13:30 to 15:00 on both days, with 13 international teams including the Spanish crew, Los Gallos. The format is deliberately compressed — short, close-quarters races held near shore, which is the whole reason SailGP picks urban waterfronts. Tickets are on sale: day tickets from €44 for children and €72 for adults, weekend tickets from €69 and €115. Where the spectator zones sit, the exact course, and whether anything is visible from public beach without a ticket depend on this edition's set-up, so check the official page rather than assuming it repeats a previous year.
Reaching the seafront without a car
The tram links the centre with the Marítim and Marina district and is the sensible way in. Parking around Cabanyal and the maritime districts on an event weekend costs you half a morning; if you drive anyway, read where to park in València first. Public transport routes to the beach are set out in getting around València.
Practicalities of a midday event in September
The timing is the real challenge: 13:30 to 15:00, on a beach, in September, with almost no shade. Hat, water, sunscreen, and a spot with some shelter if you can find one. September sea temperature is still warm, so afterwards Malva-rosa and Cabanyal beach are immediately alongside for a swim. Note that most kitchens serve lunch until around 15:30 or 16:00 and then close until the evening — if you eat straight after racing you are fine, later and you will be hunting. Casa Montaña is the classic tapas stop in the neighbourhood. Unsure which beach to pick? We compare them in Malva-rosa, Patacona or El Saler.
