IRONMAN 70.3 Triathlon in Valencia
More plans that weekend
The IRONMAN 70.3 Triathlon in Valencia is a sports event that combines swimming, cycling, and running. Thousands of triathletes from around the world will compete in various locations across the city. The competition starts with the swimming circuit at Malvarrosa Beach and continues with a 90 km cycling route and a half marathon of 21.1 km.
The IRONMAN 70.3 Triathlon in València is scheduled for 18 April 2027; no specific start time has been published. The address given, avenida Professor López Piñero, 7, is that of the Ciutat de les Arts i les Ciències, a landmark regularly used for large-scale sporting events in the city. The swimming leg takes place at Playa de la Malvarrosa, followed by a 90-kilometre cycling course and a half-marathon of 21.1 kilometres through the city.
The race
The "70.3" in the name refers to the total miles of the IRONMAN-sanctioned standard triathlon distance: 1.2 miles swimming, 56 on the bike, and 13.1 running. Entry is not free. It's a format that draws triathletes from outside Spain alongside local participants each year to race through the city and its coastline in a single day of competition.
Getting around on race days
An event of this scale typically means traffic restrictions across several areas of the city throughout the day. If you live or are staying in the city and want to anticipate traffic diversions, you can check the València transport guide in the weeks before the event, especially if you plan to drive through the area of the old Turia riverbed.
