We invite you to discover Manises' rich ceramic tradition through free dramatised guided tours for an adult audience. We will walk through the streets of the town to find out how it has been, for centuries, an international reference in the art of ceramics. From its beginnings in the Middle Ages to the present day, Manises has preserved and renewed a technique that is part of its identity.
Manises has been, since the Middle Ages, one of the great international centres for ceramics, and visitors can follow that tradition on foot thanks to free dramatised guided tours designed for an adult audience. The programme invites visitors to walk through the streets of the town and discover how the ceramic craft has shaped its identity to this day, leaving its mark on workshops, buildings, streets and parks.
The tour, with departures on Saturdays 3 and 24 October and 7 and 21 November 2026, meets in the area of Murillo, 3, in the centre of Manises. It is a good reason to visit this town in the metropolitan area of Valencia and to complete the visit with other ceramic and cultural points of interest in the area, such as the Museu Nacional de Ceràmica González Martí, which holds a world-famous collection in the Palacio del Marqués de Dos Aguas.
A living tradition spanning centuries
The dramatised visit is not limited to a historical overview: it is designed as a way of learning about the origins of the craft, its development and the legacy that remains present in everyday life in Manises. It is a free activity, although note that places are limited and prior registration is required.
If the plan is a trip around the nearby villages, visitors can also take the opportunity to explore other corners of the district, such as Quart de Poblet, with places as unusual as the Cisterna Àrab (Aljibe Medieval), one of the oldest monuments in the town, or the Ermita de Sant Onofre, linked to the legend of the apparition of San Onofre to a miller. Another possible stop is the Auditori Molí de Vila, a former 19th-century flour mill converted into the municipal auditorium.
